Google Finance codes - Vanguard ETF

I have had a frustrating hour.

I have bought into the Vanguard Global Small-Cap Index Fund. The trivial thing I would like to do is add it to my portfolio on Google Finance for tracking.

The following codes aren't recognised by Google Finance:

ISIN: IE00B3X1NT05
Bloomberg : VANGMSA
SEDOL : B3X1NT0
MEX ID : VIGSCA
Citi : I2X3

The code for another Vanguard fund in my GF portfolio already is MUTF_GB:VANG_LIFE_100_J10ZSC - so how can I find the equivalent for the Small Cap fund?

Any help for a dunce appreciated

Does morning star not do the same thing?

Apparently, Google Finance does not offer full coverage of UK funds and ETFs. Where it is lacking you might be able to get the same information with importData from Yahoo. Failing that, the next best is probably a 'screen scrape' of Morningstar's fund info screen. It is a bit fiddly, and the interstitial ads seem to get in the way of smooth operation, but it is possible with some (considerable!) patience and persistence.

Examples at this link. I found I had to play around with the table and positioning index numbers to get the right result, so this is probably also somewhat brittle; for example, not resilient against Morningstar changing the page layout.

A simple and fairly clean option for downloading fund and share prices is the FT website portfolio facility which includes an export data option which generates a CSV file.
