New Vacuum Cleaner.

I think I've just kliied of our latest Dyson as the brush bar has just snapped. It's been loosing suction for a while and the hose is crap.

The DC01 was brilliant but the two subsequent models haven't lasted so well.

What is a good replacement? The only stipulation is it must be an upright.

    Why an uprights,

Pull along ones are so much easier, you dont need to pull furtnituer out of the way, you dont have to push a heavy cleaner up front.

Now, Henry will be your friend or life. the best little workhorse you will ever come across
Typically at least 15 years use with no loss of suction.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

Very happy with the Gtech airram. Wouldn't go back to Dyson.

I bought a Henry. Big mistake. Far too heavy for me. I have mostly good quality wool carpets and I could scarcely move the head. I have given it away even though it has only been used a few times. Not money saving I know but I could not be faffed with advertising it etc.

Incidentally, I did not buy a Dyson as my daughter (who has only been married 10 years) is on her third one! My previous upright was a Panasonic which gave sterling service for 15 years. I don't think my Hoover will last as well but it cost a whole lot less than a Dyson.

I went back to upright and have a Hoover which I really like.

Dyson have been fine for us, reliable and ALL parts available, ask that of the other suppliers.

How good are the new dumbed down units, God knows. but just lets hope that bit of EU immaturity gets rescinded toute suite. SP
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

We have an old hoover upright, and it's the best vacuum we've ever used (Gran's old one); they've pretty much essential for a good carpet. The whole escalating wattage on units was nonsense anyhow, the EU regulations were simply protecting people from themselves.

It's not an upright so doesn't fit the bill.

Just a personal opinion but we had a bag less vax and moved to bagged miele recently. So happy with not having to do filthy job of emptying container. I know it's additional expense for bags but in grand scheme of things, it's not significant..

The dyson uprights and full size vacs have a 5 year guarantee. They fixed my daughters one without any hassle, even though she bought it second hand.
