    I caught it this morning and my one thought was sheer incredulity at the mere possibility of spending all that money knowing that you were simply adding to an eye-watering debt. I was aghast. They didn't even seem to be happy. Poor souls.
    When I learned that they had a combined income of £90,000.....................

    I caught it yesterday and caught the last half today.

    I watch those things .... but I don't know why as nobody's ever "like me".

    Yesterday's lot was: couple, adult son at home, she's retired so needs to "cover" her £400/month drop in income, but doesn't want to compromise on "ladies who lunch" and they didn't want to charge their son more than the £50/month (not a typo!) they're taking from him at the minute.

    Today's lot were staggering. I missed their income, but they had £101k debt and the debt expert said they could clear that in 3 years if they set their minds to it ... so I figured "You're already paying your mortgage and running a house etc with six kids AND covering £101k of interest .... and STILL you could manage to find £3k/month to repay that debt down in 3 years". Not my lifestyle at all ....

    I am always staggered at how much people do spend on stuff though ... and how they think that's "the norm/everybody does".

    I have to watch this programme if it shares genuine moneysaving (rather than debt-slashing) tips.

    How can two supposedly intelligent people think paying off the minimum amount on their credit card balance is sensible. Nowt so odd as folk!

    Just watched the first programme on catch-up nice ordinary couple for a change ,but she had a 'pound shop addiction :) It showed how easily it was to just 'pop a few things in my basket' and often it was stuff you really didn't need as she had it indoors.Pound shops are good but it is so easy to think you had better buy this or that as it was a bargain.I think we have all been there

    I'm glad I only got to the shops for stuff that's needed and I stick to my list firmly

    Seemed pretty good though and she was taking on board what she could do to earn a bit more cash.

    Not watched the second one yet :):) No doubt I shall be in for a surprise:)

    I caught up on a couple of episodes last night, and quite enjoyed them.

    Not keen on the antagonist relationship between the husband and wife in episode 1 though. Constant bickering and point scoring on the part of the wife. The second couple I really liked, more so because they prioritised their children and made that plain from the outset. I know Sarah Pennells, and was a little surprised at her view that the kids contribute. I'd rather downscale the food / do without, and help the kids out.

    Poundshop addiction :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    I watched a few episodes too last night.

    I agree the wife with £1 shop addiction was horrible. I felt quite sorry for her husband. In the end though she was the one who looked like a fool.

    i had to smile at the lady with the top buying addiction. She cheerfully admitted that she had to colour code them or she would never know what she had.

    I'm not sure that I get swishing clothes though. If you really have far too many then why not just try and sell them, especially if they are new with tags still on.
