If you ask your pharmacist you should be able to buy 'Adcortyl in orobase' over the counter for about £2-3 I think. It's a mild steroid, texture kind of a thick paste - if you dry the area with the ulcer (eg with a clean towel) then apply the paste last thing at night, the ulcer is usually virtually gone by the morning. The dental surgery I work at recommends this (we also sell Aloclair as it's very good too, so definitely worth having if it's free!).0

Aloclair is very good.
We get free sachets of it every now and again to give out to patients.
Those that try it really like it.How to find a dentist.
1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.0 -

My poor Hubby used to suffer dreadfully with huge ulcers in his mouth until a friend suggested that he could be alergic to fruit and tomatoes,he cut them out (apart from a very occasional treat) and now only gets them very rarely,he has found that bananas don't cause a problem as they don't contain fruit acids.
Worth trying if you suffer a lot. What goes around - comes around
give lots and you will always recieve lots0
