It really was lovely to meet Martin. He was incredibly busy filming people asking him questions for his show (seriously he didn't stop at all, and he was answering all the questions off the top of his head) so I was very lucky to grab him for 30 seconds to grab him for a snap.
I would have loved to have spoken to him about all his campaigning work, all his work with pfeg, with the cab and the trussel trust, his current campaign on student loan retrospective terms and conditions changes and his new mental health and debt foundation.
    Maybe next time 😀

Call yourself an old hand and you only joined in 2011 pffft.
No, seriously it's just a really lovely welcoming friendly board to hang out on. I've been lucky that I haven't had any major debt problems and my parents taught me some financial skills so it's nice to be able to give something back.
I'm well aware that things can just change like that and that I could one day find myself needing to reach out to people for help and support.
It's strange, meeting Martin reminds me of all the things that have happened on here over the years. I remember immoral angel meeting Martin and lots of other things.
It's weird, when I joined Martin was single, he met the msg, who became MSF then mrs mse and now he has mini mse. I remember the posts about using vouchers on first dates, working out which pizza or drink was better value etc. You sort of feel like you've seen all this happen. You've seen all his success yet even by making his millions (which he totally deserves) it hasn't changed him -he still plays scrabble, still does random things like works out how many mpg he can get out of his car, he's still a massive athletics super fan and he's given millions to charity.
So, it was just really lovely to meet him.
