stripped door - oozing brown oil like fluid

Hi,
I had some bedroom doors dippeda couple of weeks ago, they used Caustic soda to remove the many layers of paint.
However one of the doors seems to remain wet along one edge of the door. it looks like its about to dry but then this brown oily type substance seems to come out. The first few days after bringing it home, it left a big brown puddle on the floor (Thankfully I left it outside in a sheltered area).
I've contacted the people who dipped the door and they say they've heard of it happening in small spots but never the whole length of the door, and suggested wiping it over with white spirit.
Any ideas what this could be? and what I could use to dry it out.
The door has been sat in the Sun for the past week (and it's been pretty warm here) and still hasn't dried out.
Thanks

What sort of wood is it? It could just be natural resin from the wood. If so, knotting solution can be used to seal the area where the resin appears to be leaking from, but it you intend to use leave the doors unpainted, the knotting solution will be very visible."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

I'm not sure what kind of wood it is, it's an original door from a victorian house.
I'm talking of quite a large area of the door, could there be that much resin in the wood?
That said, the door stipping company phoned me back and have offered to replace the door. which is very kind of them, but has me a little suspicious as why would the offer a free door?!?! However I'd rather the original door was used as it fits.0
