tiling bathroom wall or cladding?

We are getting a new bathroom and builders will start on the work soon. I was told cladding is too expensive and recommended tiling but how expensive is it? How much difference between them? Which one would you go for if it was you and why? Thanks.
Size of our bathroom is 2m x 3m.

I would stay away from cladding as it's not especially durable and poor fitting is less obvious until water damage is prevalent.0
