As students from other EU countries get funding to study in the UK, it isn't an unreasonable question.

I'm not sure why...

A British student who wants to study in Poland is treated like a Polish student: if they choose a public-sector university they don't have to pay any fees. A much better deal than if they want to study at a State university in the USA...
