Home insurance "claim"

We contacted our insurance company to start the process of making a claim on our laptop. The laptop came back to life (coffee spillage) so we cancelled the claim. Now our renewal has come through and says that we have made a claim. The laptop wasn't taken away by the insurance company. Does this sound right?? Our premium increased by about £100 due to a non-claim!

You made a claim, even though you cancelled the claim it stays on your file and needs to be declared.
Check the policy wording its usually something like claims or losses even where no claim was made.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
