Car insurance after company car

Hi all,
I wonder if someone could provide some advice please?
I currently have a company car which I have had for around 5 years. My company pay for insurance, it's car-based rather than in my name.
Prior to this I had at least 11 years protected no claims.
I am about to start a new job where they provide a car allowance rather than the actual car, so I will need to get my own insurance.
I have had no accidents in my company car.
Is there any way to use my old no claims, or get insurance without starting from scratch again?
Although I'd hope my company would provide proof, I can't guarantee this as I will be leaving for a competitor so they might not want to help!
Happy to provide any other info if needed!
Cheers

Your own NCD is too old to use.
Many insurers do accept letters from employers confirming company car drivers claim free record.
If you hit problems see if a local broker (not Swinton) can help find an insurer to recognise your driving history0 -
Ok thanks, that helps.. Sounds like I'm screwed if my company won't write a letter then0

Surely the letter has to come from the insurance firm your company uses and not your company.0 -
When I retired I got a letter from my company giving details of my driving record (no claims or accidents in the previous 10 years).
This was accepted by my new insurers (Saga) and I was given a full NCB.0 -
when i had a company car, the car lease people's internet portal had a link to request a NC letter - perhaps yours have something similar.0

Thanks, I'll check that... We've only used this lease company just over a year, but that would be better than nothing0

Just an update in case anyone else has the same question...
My company provided a letter saying I'd been using a company car for 6 years with no accidents, and my insurance company accepted this with no issues.
Please note this was the company, not the company's insurance provider (as the cars are insured, not the people).
It's not as good as the 15 or 16 years I should have had, but much better than nothing!0
