Landlord Deposit

Hi all,

I have just moved house (from one rented property to the next). In the old property the carpet is quite badly worn from where the bed support used to be. Will this be classified as wear and tear or will the landlord potentially try to deduct some money from our deposit? I can post some pictures later if that helps.

In terms of painting there is paint in our garage (presumably from the landlord). Should I use this to paint the the walls (obviously assuming it is the right colour) or again is that classified as wear and tear.

Thanks for your help in advance.

Jamie

as you have not described what is wrong with the walls, we cannot advise if it is W&T or not!
Before using the LL's paint, check he is OK with this. Bear in mind the quality of paint-work you are capable of - if you do a bodge job you will be responsible and just make things worse.
