Just for info, the guide mentions the Hilton Doubletree NYC. Which DoubleTree NYC is this?

If it's the DoubleTree Times Square, we have stayed there several times and enjoyed our stays. However it's due to close permanently for redevelopment in a matter of days.

There's also a DT Times Square West, a different hotel. We haven't stayed there.

I am another person who used to use hotwire for the USA. I just booked in Italy and got a €140 room for €98 but hotwire advertised it as €80 and their fees added €18. The booking confirmation is beyond sparse, too, showing the hotel name and address but very little else. With fees adding 24% to displayed prices, I won't be booking with them again!
