Has anybody had any experience with Metro Bank in the UK?

I'm currently looking for an account in which I can withdraw abroad without incurring a lot of fees. I've made two cash withdrawals whilst I am in Bulgaria for a few months at the moment, and I have already incurred over £5 worth of extra charges because of this, and I'm going to Amsterdam next month too. I have a credit card that I can use abroad for no extra fees, but I'm looking for something I can withdraw cash from (I keep getting rejected for the Halifax Clarity credit card so that is out of the picture at the moment)
So when looking at accounts, I've stumbled across Metro Bank, and I can get free cash withdrawals in Europe, so I was thinking of applying. But I've never really heard of them, or anybody being with them..
Any advice?

You could try Norwich and peterborough.
If you can make use of teh insurances the nationwide flex plus account may also suit.0 -

Metro Bank are OK - I've had an account with them since they first opened. At first they had free card use worldwide, then they downgraded it to Europe only. They did mess up a bit once when they lost a transfer I made into my Metro account and took several days to find it again, and the customer service agents didn't seem very capable when trying to track it down. But apart from that they have been fine, and the account doesn't have any minimum credit or usage conditions unlike most other options for free use abroad.Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks

And you're Peter Duncan; I gave you fair warning0 -
The Metro Bank debit card is widely used by travellers to European countries, it gives the straight MasterCard exchange rate, the best available, with no foreign fees for purchases or ATM withdrawals. It's issued immediately when you open an account at one of their London area branches, taking about forty minutes.
Alternatively look at the N&P BS account, or the Revolut prepaid MasterCard. With the FairFX or CaxtonFX prepaid cards you lose a percentage on the exchange rates.Evolution, not revolution0 -
I'd echo the comments regarding MetroBank, good card for European spending. Most of their branches (sorry stores) are in or around London so bear this in mind if you are not. Some of their savings products could not be opened online0
