Where to get travel insurance when already abroad as an expat on secondment

I'm on secondment in Belgium and my annual travel insurance has just expired. I am due to be in Belgium until the start of October but I have a trip to Spain planned and a driving trip around Europe planned which will both depart from Belgium. My permanent home is in the UK. As I'm already in Belgium does this bar me from taking out UK based travel insurance as my trips will not originate in the UK? Will I have to take out Belgian travel insurance instead and if so will I qualify as a Belgian resident (I've been living here since October 2015).
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
