Evening,
I got a letter yesterday from dwp saying they tried calling me but couldn't contact me. They may have my old number. They said they need to speak to me about changes to my benefits? I am on esa cont. based. I had my assessment last month. I have to call them within 3 days. Does anyone know why they are trying to contact me? I thought they would just write with a decision?! Thanks in advance!

They probably just want to ask you something that they may have forgotten to ask at the assessment. It does happen now and again. I don't think they tell you the decision over the phone. That sounds unlikely, but I could be wrong.
Just give them a bell tomorrow. Good luck.cooeeeeeeeee :j :wave:0 -

Thank you.0 -
The most common reason for contact following assessment is that you have fallen just short of the point required to be placed into either the WRAG or Support Group. A Decision Maker will call people in that situation to see if there is any way to increase the score to make the person qualify.
Just a general observation about the phone number. A change of number is actually a change of circumstance which should be reported to DWP. Not a critical one but, as in this case, one which could affect benefit payment.0 -

I called them yesterday and said someone will call me today. Lady wouldn't tell me why. She just said a decision maker will call me today between 9 and 2 but never did. I changed my number with them so they have correct details.0
