I recently won a day on a cruise ship through Royal Caribbean ( we are not leaving the dock) and they have asked for various personal details which is fine but they have asked for myself & guests driving license number / passport. Would you be happy to provide this info on email? I'm probably being overly cautious.

That sounds like a valid security check before they take off on their next cruise. Imagine if someone with ill intent left something behind . . . .
