I can point out whole streets in my area who have happy meters and they don`t want to change them..Can you delete the next section of your post because you seem to be assisting people to get around a smart meter

Or your energy supplier will give you a "friendly reminder" by shutting your electric off for 20 mins when you are a day late with your bill.
I don't usually go for this conspiracy theory BS but I can actually see something like this happening.
if im ever forced into having a smart meter im sure I can controll me own costs if they start getting greedy0 -

Its a good term for their meter, the fiddlers are very happy about their energy bills. The suppliers make it easy for them to get away with it by spending very little on RPU. British Gas run a very large Revenue Protection Unit, and it operates as a business and makes a profit on its expenditure and they are the most proficient supplier at catching fiddlers and predictively Npower ( I m told by a senior BG RPU man ) are the worst.
I ve caught hundreds over the years bypassing the electric meters and either damaging the gas meter or substituting it to get unmetered gas.0 -

If BG's RPU are running as a business (and making a profit), you would think that they might want to take on fiddlers for the other suppliers. Would be a nice revenue stream for BG, and help eradicate the theft from the grid.
They do actually work on gas meters only now for Scottish Power. Something they started a couple of years ago.Its s a good job they have the pro`s on the job because I work for Scottish Power also and every time I found a SP fiddle they virtually ignored it ! Once they even sent an engineer round to a dangerously fiddled electric meter and the woman just refused him entry (saying she was busy ) and he just went off never to return! BG would never do that.0 -
people are stupid and have no sense, at least if it was done correctly they wouldn't be risking a house fire - im not saying they should be fiddling to start with, but people who think they can replace a 25mm tail with a section on 2.5mm or less cable to run there whole house.0

They do tho. I ve even seen thin speaker wire used as a link.Drug addicts live in their own world of " I don t give a **** about anything " and they are the worst. One who lives a few doors down from me had the whole meter up in smoke with a cack handed attempt to save his drug money instead of paying for heating costs. I would say virtually every drug addict bypasses the lecky and gas too and EVERY one growing a crop of weed does also and there s one of them in every street in the UK now.0 -
Do you know of any companys that DONT read meters? my uncle has a job going round offering switching services and hes told me of one company who don't even do meter readings! , meaning they'll NEVER check your meter
before anybody considers fiddling the electric I suggest you hit ebay and replace as many of your bulbs as you can for LED'S. its shocking how much they can save you. I replaced 13 x 40w bulbs with 13 x 5w leds and they paid for them self within a couple of months. my electric bill is down from around £40 a month to £30 a month now.0
