From time to time my car (Audi A3) DAB radio automatically changes station from my normal choice, Radio 4, to Heart. Its always Heart, never anything else. Any ideas as to why and how to stop it? My first thought was the Traffic Programme. But turning that feature off makes no difference, it didnt correspond to Heart traffic warnings anyway. I have tried reloading the station list, but again it doesnt help.

    Weird, my Mitsubishi does it too, not always but quite often the DAB goes from Radio 2 to Radio 1 on start up. Can't offer a solution but offer sympathy that again its only on DAB so is in some way related.
  • I believe that it happens when the DAB signal is not found or is weak, so the radio picks up the strongest station.

    This is confirmed by Nissan.

    I don't have DAB in the car but a friend does and his is the same.

    His always picks the station that is saved in the preset 1 position, in his case Radio 1 as his presets are;

    1 - BBC R1
    2 - BBC R2
    3 - local radio station
    4 - BBC R4
    5 - Classic FM
    6 - Smooth

    Done a complete factory reset and rescan recently? It's possible it's getting confused with some old stations. You could try turning off the feature that finds the strongest signal for the same station and se eif that makes a difference.
