Neighbours house collapsing.

Even if she is insured, they won't help her. As you said it's her responsibility to keep the property in good state of repair, and she hasn't. Unfortunately she will have to deal with this issue herself.
I agree in calling social services and the council.0 -

This is what I'm suspecting to be honest.0 -
If it's unsafe the council will pay to make it safe and put a charge on the property for when it's sold so they get the money backEx forum ambassador

Under what section of the policy?Yes .
I can't think of any section other than accidental damage which would cover this - in which case it would only be covered if that extension had been taken out.
Most policies have a section for impact but it's only impact by specific things which usually doesn't include other buildings.0 -

So, if the side of her house hits me I've had it?0 -

If it hits your house - do you have accidental damage cover on your buildings insurance?
If it hits you - you'd need to sue her. It would help her if she had house insurance as it includes liability to others.
I do have accidental cover on my house policy, hopefully that should see my house ok. It's a worrying situation all round tho, even if she does by a slim chance have insurance, I'm not sure it's going to sort this out because it's years of sheer neglect.0 -

It won't.
You need to get local building control involved.
Try the neighbour on the other side. If her house is as bad as you say, I would be surprised if they are not seeing the effect.0 -

I've told the family that someone really needs to go and talk to the neighbour attached to her, as far as I'm aware no one has. I rang her sisters mobile, I got no answer and no ones rang back, if they have washed their hands of her I've no idea what I'm going to do.0 -
Read the posts by others , stop faffing around and speak to building control , if there's an issue with her building and it's unsafe they will serve an enforcement notice , if it's in imminent danger of collapse they will arrange emergency remedy to make it safeEx forum ambassador
