Combi Boiler Question

Hi,
This week we replaced our ancient conventional boiler with a combi. One thing I've noticed is that occasionally throughout the day the hot water fires up even when the taps are switched off... it's this normal? I was assuming that it's just to maintain the temperature of the water in the boiler but thought I'd check as I know nothing about combi boilers. It's a Baxi Main Eco 30.
Thanks.

Some boilers do have this facility to give as near instant hot water as possible - I've read. Check out your manual, I assume your installer left one for you!0

Check out "intelligent pre heat" http://www.mainheating.co.uk/docs/main_combi_eco_elite_user_guide.pdf0

Thanks for the help, I really should have just read the manual first but I thought it may be a standard thing on all combis.

Turn it off, it only wastes gas. Some boilers do also do an occasional test fire and CH valve operation if the CH hasn't been used for a while.0

Our WB does the regular heat up and as mentioned it can be switched off. However, the men who fitted our boiler said that it uses only a tiny amount of gas, as it runs for such a short time.0
