UPVC windows - tilt n turn hinge covers

are the hinges on all tilt n turn windows a standard size?

also best way of removing gloss/emulsion from the frames

have read using diluted thinners works but could make the frames turn pink/yellow
would the solvent based upvc cleaners be fine?
