Haircut fears

In the present climate I don`t believe anyone Amateur or Professional can predict the markets performance.
The present situation with the volatility of the Brexit effect leads me to think that we may be heading towards a haircut scenario.
I may be way off in my fears but I`m very tempted to go for the shoebox under the bed option until things settle down..
It`s tempting to keep what I have worked for many years away from the clutches of the incompetent financial authorities.
I`m sorry if I come across as paranoid, but I planned for my retirement so carefully that I feel cheated to be left with so much uncertainty.

Nationalism is an infantile disease. It is the measles of mankind. - Albert Einstein.

Depends how suspicious or paranoid you want to be.
The aim of most governments now, with high debt to gdp ratios, is to increase inflation to reduce the debt burden, though they haven't been very effective.
If the uk financial authorities are incompetent then that means you should really be holding cash in sterling. Maybe try dollars, euros or yen. If things are really bad then gold should be the aim, as well as buying tin food and guns for the apocalypse.0 -
Project Fear is still working its malign magic, I see.Free the dunston one next time too.0

You do sound paranoid.
If it happens, it happens. Worrying about it isn't going to change things, and it'll only make you feel worse.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,
What it may grow to in time, I know not what.
