Can housing association tenants spouses buy a home as FTB??

Dear All
I am currently renting a property through a housing association and am waiting for the "Right to buy" to be extended so that I can get my first home. My spouse currently found a job in a different part of the country and is keen to move down there. However, I am not keen on loosing my current housing association home and reluctant to move. Here are my questions
1) Can my spouse buy a home close to her job by applying for a mortgage as a FTB, instead of paying a rent, she does have some deposit as savings?
2) When the Right to buy is extended can I buy my housing association home eligible as a FTB?
Please advice and will appreciate if you can provide some decent references.
Thanks again for reading through this.

You don't have to be a FTB to buy your home under RTB, it has to be your main residence.0

What do you mean by references? As far as I know, the scheme hasn't been finalised yet so there are a lot of unknowns still but you can google to find out more yourself https://www.gov.uk/government/news/housing-association-tenants-take-first-step-to-homeownership but won't give specifics as yet.
Whether your OH can buy a property depends on her salary, if she meets the affordability criteria of the lending organisation, and if she has enough savings to pay at least 10% deposit, legal fees etc.
Whether you can buy your property depends on your name being on the tenancy, you might have to have your spouse's name taken off if she moves out (check this, I'm not totally sure how this is done, but your HA will be able to inform you how). Also on whether you can afford it, have deposit etc.
But a lot of ifs and buts right now.0
