That's a roll every 3.5 days. I find that hard to believe.
Google tells me that some rolls only have 200 squares, but that still amounts to 57 squares per visit to the toilet.
Are people eating the stuff?
Just a thought. If the country runs out of toilet rolls, the s*** really will hit the fan.0 -
and there are less than a handful of men qualified to work in them.
A handful of men GQ? That's sexist.
Don't you mean a handful of people? If you have such a pipe, I would advise you to look at insulating it because if it freezes solid, your combi will shut down on you.
My boiler vents to the kitchen sink waste pipe, so I should be OK, no matter what the weather is like.0 -
Really hoping not see a re-run of early winter 2010, whcih statrted about end Nov and show and ice went on until Xmas. It was chaos at work, the gas engineers were running all over the place dealing with frozen condensate pipes from combi boilers. If you have such a pipe, I would advise you to look at insulating it because if it freezes solid, your combi will shut down on you.2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Our condensate pipe is a member of the family. Turns the boiler off routinely despite lagging unless plied with of weak tea. Lads trained to get the kettles rolling <ignoring teabags> and strip, soak & repeat until the clunk of dislodged icicle is heard. On form, under 5 minutes. Out of practice, 35 minutes a lot of harsh language & the "eeew, slugs!". We very rarely yell for help with the boiler but <ahem> we invoke all sorts on the team who thought a 3 metre sloping run towards the drain was a good idea...
As for loosing weight & really feeling the cold, I shed four stone for my parents golden wedding anniversary & have put quite a lot of it back. Migods yes layers but not too tight that you don't get warm air trapped between them.
As for looking ovoid, what if you do long as hands & feet still pink not waxy white with purple splotches. I'm short & look ovoid Anyway. If you insist on maintaining elegant sleekness I commend having an assortment of thermos flasks laden at the start of day and keep drinking!0 -
They may be people, Bob, but they're definately men. Despite working in various fields I have never in my whole life encountered a female gas engineer or a female car mechanic.
Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

There's a lady mechanic at our local garage, and very good she is too. I know of a female plumber, but I don't know whether she "does" gas too; many of our male plumbing acquaintances do so she might; she's the sister of a friend (an ex-plumber himself, she took over the family business) & lives upcountry, so I don't know her personally.Angie - GC Aug25: £374.16/£550 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)0

Not quite elegant sleekness by any stretch!
I could probably shift another 4st without anybody medical batting an eyelid, but I am already feeling quite conscious of how 'small' I feel compared to others, now - and there are quite a few people who have behaved slightly differently towards me; even some of the kids at work; I'm not quite able to put my finger on the right words, but I think it might be they're acting 'protective'. Hugs from the guys I work with at gigs feel different, maybe stronger or it might be that they're putting their arms properly round my back (none of this is weird or creepy in the context of working in music)?
Anyhow, a new little co-op has opened up round the corner and we've just popped in. Himself isn't impressed. Presumably because there's only one section devoted to crisps and sweets - but I'm very happy that this one has lots of fresh fruit and veg, proper meat and fish, cheap tinned pulses in abundance, plus a few ding dinners and a respectable amount of dairy free options, along with lots of cheap and eco friendly cleaning materials and cat food. Even if it wasn't that great, just the fact of it being there reduces our exposure to supply issues with the two Mr T locals which have knocked out most of the opposition within the 1/8th of a mile stretch they cover - and are now threatening to close down, leaving us with two corner shops and nowt else. Himself doesn't see this as a problem, but I am not convinced that his idea of getting along fine, what with his preference for sweets, crisps and fizzy drinks with the occasional ding dinner, is quite the same as mine.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
We now have 136 loo rolls. The OH must be anticipating bogmageddon.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0
