I have a secret supply of Pringles so just need to keep them hidden from DH. The" lettuce shortage"-didn't notice one in T**** this morning- comes just as our first lettuce are ready for harvesting.

I reckon retailers create a buzz about difficulty with supply so consumers feel lucky to have the endangered item, feel good about the marvellous store who can provide, pay more for said endangered item while spending more because they're in a jolly good mood. Capella shove over, make room for another cynic here.

    Does cynicism create paranoia?:rotfl:

very dangerous weather, you could be drinking loads but not much going down the loo. Bodies are working very hard to retain safe internal body temperatures. Best to not do much and move more slowly. Be careful standing up, some will be feeling dizzy. Pace yourselves
I did any jobs when cooler outside, solar blinds down and fan on all day. Did 2 floors slowly on hands and knees, n facing rooms. Any s facing rooms get done very early if at all and being the age I am, will definitely not be going outside in full sun. Was out at 9 for an hour, was enough

  • One of those enormous things that make all else fade into insignificance has just happened, they have found the missing children and their coach alive in the flooded cave system, they are weak but they are all alive. How can anything vex lives when something as wonderful as that has just happened?

That's amazing news MrsLW. I think the parents must have given up hope and now this wonderful recovery.

Kittie - thank you for the reminder about keeping fluids intake up. My very elderly neighbour became badly dehydrated over a period of days,, she became very confused and we thought she'd had a mini stroke but it was not the case. Fortunately she is recovering in hospital now.
