I've been doing holiday admin. I made a flickr album for the Norwegian photos - good lord, I had no idea I'd abandoned flickr in the way I had, how embarrassing. I started to set it up in support of the kindle book, and then just didn't do anything with it. So the Norwegian photos are now about a third of the whole account
I have other, prepster-type photos of particularly Norwegian type items (lights, transport, whatnot) that I'll put on there when I update all around.
Here they are: https://www.flickr.com/photos/113913137@N06/albums/72157698448116835.

Another shooting in the USA on the ticker tape at the bottom of the screen on the BBC news, a newspaper office this time and very little detail other than a number of deaths, they haven't said if it is terrorism or anything else, so very sad. Why can't mankind live in peace?0

Oh wow, Karmacat, I think a trip to Norway is a must now! That said, I've a friend who is just back from Iceland and enjoyed it hugely; can't wait to go back & is taking orders for wool already. Perhaps the days of basking in the Mediterranean are behind us now...Angie - GC Aug25: £374.16/£550 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)0

Son has acquired a really nice hip flask. 6 fl oz, definitely not an easily concealed carry.
Prepper suggestions as to what we should put in it please?! (Without being wholly because "it would cheer me up" In The Event)0 -
Hi Mrs LW
I haven’t read much about this most recent shooting in the US but as far as I can see if you have an argument at work or with your spouse it seems the logical thing over there to shoot at them. I don’t understand it, they never learn. There’s loads more shootings that are local so to speak rather than terrorist. We’ve recently been over to the US and the local news has this type of thing or similar on every day. They can’t get past the right to bear arms issue even though innocent people are dying every day. If you haven’t got a gun you can’t shoot people just because you are angry or unhinged.
Sorry just needed to have a rant
It’s ridiculous that people need guns in this day and age.

Ye Gods, cashpoints at risk.
Tell you, assorted cash stashes are getting to be downright reasonable - in another 5 years I'm not sure I'll be able to make it three quarters of the way up Helvellyn to withdraw notes.0 -
Isn't it just? There are loads of things in life that I wish weren't and lots of people I consider a waste of space but the rub is that they ARE people, human beings who even if I find them wholly unacceptable and so far from what I hold dear, have a right to their own stances and opinions and a right to life. It feels these days as though that life itself is considered cheap and dispensable and that it is the right of an individual to act to remove those lives they find unacceptable or unworthy. I find it a great sadness that human beings can't find ways to co-exist without all the hate and death! Surely the human condition can include love too?0

Given this blisteringly hot weather and the information that it's likely to go on for the foreseeable future I've used all my stored tap water to top up the water butt in the garden and renewed my stocks with fresh. I keep them in a dark corner in the storeroom and they seem to store there fairly well. If and only if we get to the point of shortages (there was talk of hosepipe bans on this mornings news) it will be useful to have a little buffer of drinking water available.0
