Thats a good haul, GQ, well done you. A blanching basket sounds interesting, I must search that.
Lyn, you asked about the legal situation in relation to abandoned properties? I don't know what it is now, to be honest, but 30 years ago or so, you could occupy something that was obviously abandoned and it became yours after 12 years, nothing to pay to anyone.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
That's squatters rights isn't it? not for a second do I think that in the scenario of utter chaos that anyone would come round and demand goods, etc. for occupying a derelict building and making it into a sound one that you could live in but in the years afterwards I'd hate to be either forced to move out or be in debt to anyone/any organisation that would leave me in what amounted to serfdom.0

That's probably what its called in the general population, Lyn, but I researched it at one time, and there's a legal foundation for it. I'll have a hunt and see what gives.2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Nope, but he's a country lad, his family has plenty of places to plant recalcitrants.
As an american father said to the lad about to take his teen daughter out on a date; Son, I have a shotgun, 40 acres and a backhoe.
Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

That's a box bed MrsL, old houses had them. They look cosy but I'd be too scared of dangly things with lots of legs dropping on me during the night!!

I've seen these in Northumberland too. They also served as a private place for parents on occasion.GC Feb 25 - £225.54/£250 Mar £218.63/£2400 -
Perhaps if enough of us got together in an area where there were many abandoned cottages we could form a fairly useful work gang and do them up one at a time?0
