The reason I needed more paracetamol- having flu myself depleted my stocks. We don't normally use it, and haven't had flu for years. OH uses Naproxen and Oramorph for arthritis/sciatica.

    One packet of 16 = 2 days on dose of 2 x 500mg every 6 hours
So one week of flu will use up 3 and a half packets
So both of us having flu = 7 packets , assuming OH takes a week to recover as I did. Let's hope it stays affordable. But it is necessary to have a system of rebuilding stocks now.

money, thank you for the mention of thieves oil. I have made it, :Denough for me and also for a dd, mixed in a small glass jug, decanted with 3ml pipettes and put into 10ml blue bottles with pipette tops. I put 4 drops into my small vaporiser, which I keep near to my plants so they get moisture. It is wonderful, the smell is better than any of the myriad oils I have, apart from lavender

Beautiful high quality oils at a very good price. I ordered 10 ml bottles, 3ml pipettes and 3 blue 10ml bottles with pipette tops. I worked out the quantities in ml for each oil, for 2 10ml containers, bearing in mind that I only started with 10ml of clove oil. All numbers in ml
    http://www.essentialoilsonline.co.uk/

    clove 7.5
    lemon 5.6
    cinnamon 3.75
    eucalyptus 3
    rosemary 1.7

no great accuracy needed and impossible with the pipettes. I like it so much that this recipe is going to be laminated and stored with my oils and herbs

The Woodley Iceland is presently cash only as cards aren't working. Anyone else's Iceland the same, or just here? Just as well I had some notes, though I was wondering if they would be able to give change. They were.

You should have cash if you are a prepper.Never assume, ever, that electronic payment will always work. Cash is always king.

  • All the prepping in the world can't prepare for some things can it? we've had a damp patch on the kitchen wall (internal one too) just below the hot water tank on and off since we had the bathroom done and a shower installed a few years ago. Just before Christmas we had a blister on the wall and investigation showed a slight leak from the top of the hot water tank in the airing cupboard which we called the plumber to and thought he's fixed. This morning I found another blister and on checking found there was water running down the side of the tank but this time from the immersion heater seal and the floor was wet. Plumber has come as he was in the area and we need a new hot water tank so he's drained this one and we now have no hot water or heating until the end of next week at the earliest.....what a good job we have the woodstove and enough fuel to keep her running while that happens. Also what a good job I'm up to date with the washing too, we'll have to get used to heating a kettle for everything from washing up to washing us and as luck would have it we got a new kettle last week and the old one still works so that will go upstairs to use for the bathroom.
