Lemon balm is gorgeous stuff, I have a huge clump of it in my herby gardeny bit. Serious preppers I think definitely need a herb garden and a herbal. I use thyme for coughs/colds/chests, Mallow or Meadowsweet for sore tummies, lemon balm for everything, and honey is A1 for any kind of open wound, including blisters and ulcers.
And I must be lucky up here thaty we have an old-fashioned family doctor (and his wife too). We can get an emergency appt any day we need one, or just talk to them on the phone. And it's only 11 miles away down a main road, which for us is pretty good!0 -

I had hoped this new prepping thread would leave behind the personal venting.
But here we are following on from post 413.
Unlike post 416 which is a lovely example of how to express a differing opinion.0 -
Does anyone dry mint for mint tea? We have loads of mint in the garden and I've heard that the tea is good for the digestion.0

its especially useful if when pregnant you suffer from inflamed veins in certain parts of your anatomy as its basically a zinc cream
DigForVictory "My inner prepper stresses that I can't arrange a three month stash but at least I've several small coolbags for insulin."
have you considered sending in your rx a few days early each time?
if you always make sure you use the oldest medicines first you should be fine to build in a little safety net to protect against loss of transport or emergencyAlmost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes, including you. Anne Lamott
It's amazing how those with a can-do attitude and willingness to 'pitch in and work' get all the luck, isn't it?
Please consider buying some pet food and giving it to your local food bank collection or animal charity. Animals aren't to blame for the cost of living crisis.0 -

You could also steep some fresh.
Thanks for the reminder. I have a load too!0 -
I built up my meds stash by putting the px in a few days earlier each time
I have a terracotta strawberry planter, would I be able to grow different herbs together in it? Or do different things need different soil types?
Sadly, have decided not to get hens again, so my friend can pass her hen house on to someone else. I don't feel our current garden is big enough. I've always let my hens go free range and that would not be possible here
Vaseline & liquid antiseptic are useful to have. Not dim.....just living in soft focus

I wasn't venting. I was advising that we still have a troll in our midst for those who were unaware.Life is too short to waste a minute of it complaining about bad luck. Find joy in the simple things, show your love for those around you and be grateful for all that you have.0 -
