Raining here. I stayed dry while getting ours and next door's bins in by wearing rainjacket, wellies and rubber gloves
mardatha Your post made me smile, you sound so happy with your snow
Soooo....President Trump. Hmm.0 -
Wonder what Americans are going to feel when they wake up to it eh? I'd be prepping like hell or moving to Canada I think. And all the immigrants will be scared.0

I think a lot of Americans will be feeling much as a lot of Brits did when we woke up to Brexit.
I have a sudden new understanding for the Europeans appalled fascination with us, from safely across a dividing strip of water...
Me, with the weather forecast, I had a Snow Day booked, so I can look out at the snowflakes & lean on a warm husband & sip tea.0 -

One thing we can all agree on imo is that we live in interesting times.0 -
It hardly ever snows here so when I woke up early and opened the blinds I got a real shock to see a covering of snow:eek:
Ironically the winter preps are arriving tomorrow morning but I do have enough at the moment not to have to go out. I am going to dig out my boots and heavy coat from the wardrobe and see a dd in York this afternoon and do a little present shopping.
Older dd is driving me to weigh in tonight and asked me to make a "taster" so will make a roasted veg crustless quiche later.
It is still trying to snow but is almost like a fine white rain.

I'm actually pleased Trump won irrespective of whether he will be a good President - for various reasons best left to other threads.

I'd be interested to hear your take on this Pineapple. The result is what I expected personally out of the "between the devil and the deep blue sea" choice the US faced.
Do give us a link to any other thread you post on on this please.:)0 -

Opinions probably left to pms or politics threads. We don't want to fall out with each other (like that has ever happened :rotfl:).
What might be interesting however is to look at any day to day implications for us..0 -

If the rounds are too big I'm not sure a log splitter will help. How did you try and split those logs? For large scrounged (where I have no choice on size) rounds I use a grenade and sledgehammer. Two grenades available in case (for when!) the first one gets stuck. For smaller stuff I use a cheap maul, although I'd love a Gransfors-bruk!
If you've got lots of reasonable size logs to split then fair enough, but I'd check the specs before you buy.0 -

As did the Irish one. To be fair, the Canadians were already operating an enhanced service in anticipation but technology can only handle so much panic...0
