My OS thought of the day is how much I've missed reading and posting on OS. I've been AWOL for quite a while apart from the occasional pass by but I'm back on the OS wagon and, having read lots of threads tonight, I'm inspired!Putting these winter preps here so I don't forget!

I just read a post that has propelled my thoughts toward a meal I can make with the leftover veg from tonight's meal and it will seem very different to DH. I think using what we have in the fridge and not wasting is paramount to OS thinking. I get so many great ideas from the rest of you Old Stylers. Thank you for a great community!Overprepare, then go with the flow.

My OS thought for today is to make something I do need from something I don't... I had two pairs of ill-fitting but presentable jeans, 99p-rail charity shop finds, virtually new (Gap & Next) just cut a tad too low in the waist for me. Yesterday I butchered one of them to make a slimline denim skirt, as the last thing my shape needs is added bulk; I'd been looking for one for ages but not found anything just right. Today I'll tackle the other pair; the first one's OK & perfectly wearable, but I think I can improve on it!
I shall also try to mend at least two more items from the mending pile; I did two yesterday & wore one of them (with the skirt) for the rest of the day - I'd forgotten how nice & useful it was! And all it needed was two buttons found & stitched on, but more than once I've been tempted to throw the whole pile out just to make some tidy space. And then I'd have had to buy more clothes... I do love the glow of satisfaction when I can return something to usefulness again!Angie - GC Oct 25: £467.21/£500: 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 40/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)0 -
DH planted some lilly bulbs in a big pot by our backdoor. They are just opening and they smell fabulous!

we'll get more pleasure than we would from a shop-bought bouquet and it's definitely money saving!
MI have changed my work-life balance to a life-work balance.
