HP 6520 scanning to mac - help!

I have a HP Photosmart 6520 (all in one) and a Mac. The 6520 has always worked perfectly, printing, scanning and copying. However, recently (maybe since last update to OS El Capitan 10.1.4), the scanning function either doesn't work at all, or the image is covered with dense vertical lines.
I have re-installed the HP driver, tried to install and use the HP Easy Scan, but absolutely nothing will get the scanner going again! :wall:I have read that it could be the OS update which has caused the problem but cannot find a solution from HP and I wondered if anyone had had the same issue and managed to resolve it!
Many thanks...

I have a similar model but don't know if it's similar enough to use the same solution, I have an SD card inserted into the printer and I choose to scan to the memory card and then just copy the scanned image from the printer's share (something like \\192.168.1.10 in my case). That way it means I don't need any HP software installed on the PC so it may be worth checking to see if you could do the same, at least as a workaround for now.

John, that is an excellent suggestion! I will give it a go...0

Under Spotlight type in Image Capture and see if your HP Printer is recognised? It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.0
