What ladies gym wear do you rate?

When I decided to join the gym I ordered multiple tracksuit bottoms and t shirts from S.Direct. It wasn't till I got there that I realised that I was way behind the times and these days all the girls are into gym leggings either plain or all patterned and fancy tops. Though I look like a dinosaur I didn't feel comfortable chucking it all away and getting new stuff just cos it wasn't trendy and I've got 3 yrs use out of it but there's only so many times you can put things through the wash before before I thought I deserve some new kit so just wondering what brands/specific items do others rate for ladies gym wear especially gym leggings :-) Thanks

Leggings are absolutely horrible to wear at the gym in my experience. They stick to you, and get skanky so quickly!
For tops I use adidas, they fit well, are fairly cheap, and are long enough to hide my bum! I've had a few good ones from Primark in their sports wear section in larger stores, and H&M.
I wear shorts, not leggings (after being so sweaty in leggings I felt disgusting). I buy those from Primark, H&M and other high street shops.
You shouldn't feel the need to be "trendy" - most of those girls just sit there and post on instagram anyway instead of getting fit.0 -
I just use Asda stuff! They have some funky designs aswell as plain colours, they wash really well and dry super quickly.
I go to the gym about 3 times a week and take part in sports for a further 3 days so spend a lot of my time sweaty!
My kit takes a battering but so far is doing well.
I picked up 3 sets of 3/4 leggings in the sale at £6 not so long ago.
That would be my first choice rather than spend a fortune.0 -
You dont need to buy expensive stuff, Lidl have their own tops and leggings in from time to time and they are amazing value. Matalan, Primark and Asda all do a good range. The lightweight stuff is comfier and dries faster than cotton t-shirts and tracksuit bottoms.
I get really hot but I prefer knee length or 3/4 sports type leggings and a vest top. Comfort is important though and yes who cares what you look like, you just want to feel confident in whatever's right for you.0 -
I second Asdas stuff. Ive also bought from Matalan and Sports Direct as well, I usually just go for whatever's on sale as I hate to pay full price.0

I've bought a few brightly patterned pairs of USA Pro crop leggings from Sports Direct when they've been on offer around £10 (full price is :rotfl:) - but I did try on a pair in the shop before I ordered as SD returns policy is a bit of a nightmare.
Also George at Asda have some decent stuff and Tesco do too.
I looked at Lidl but thought the fabric was a bit flimsy.
I buy plain tops from George and Primark.
Or you could try TKMaxx.0 -
Not a lady, but have had to spend valuable periods of my life that I will never get back giving feedback on Mrs G's potential gym wear purchases. The irony is that after spending several hours deliberating over what fancy gear to to buy, she then wears a knee length baggy T shirt over the top when she goes to the gym.
She prefers USA Pro from Sports Direct but also recently discovered the sale rail in Decathlon. TK Maxx can sometimes have some good branded stuff but is pot luck what they have in stock.
Styles vary from full length boot cut 'yoga' pants, three quarter length leggings and, less often, shorts of the spray on variety. All in plain colours.0 -
Sweaty Betty - it's not cheap but even after loads of washes their stuff still looks brand new. Plus, the different between cotton and proper sweat wicking fabric is amazing.0

I wear addidas response tights. I specifically look for these because:
-they dont show sweat patches around the butt and groin like other makes
- there is enough room for my big bum
- they have a drawstring waist to help keep them up
-they seem to have lasted me ages (3+ years of near daily use)
They can be a bit warm though!0 -
Wear what is comfortable for you. Don't spend a bomb on recommendations (certain things work for certain people) - gym stuff takes a battering and so much washing you'll only depress yourself if it ruins.
Comfort is key, otherwise what is the point? You won't have a good work out if your top is flapping and your leggings keep riding up your bum. Stick a pair of sports shorts and a tank top on !!0 -
I swear by Adidas gym gear, tops are a great length and the cropped leggings fit around the legs and waist. I've tried Primark, Reebok and Nike, and they just don't fit as well. Raid the clearance section on the Adidas website, always guaranteed to pick up bargain there.0
