Purely personal preference but I like to stay nearer the 'mainland' end for easy access to N.Wales as there is a lot there we like to do so it saves time, although the other end of Anglesey is great too. Particular favorite is the Red Wharf bay area.
All depends on what you want, crabbing off Beaumaris pier is epic fun for kids and adults, you can also take a trip on a speed boat down the Menai Straits which is fun. Or a trip to see the Puffin's. Easy access to North Wales brings theme parks, mountains, walking, giant zip wires, zoo's, you name it. Anglesey, day trips to Ireland? plenty of other stuff.0 -
I liked Amlwch Port on the North coast of Angelsey. Had a nice visitor centre/cafe.The man without a signature.0

There are lots of beautiful beaches and bays also - have a great time!0 -
I had an afternoon trip to Anglesey when we were staying on the mainland recently.
Beaumaris is nice for a wander round.
Our favourite little place is Moelfre, just up the coast - nice shingle beach, interesting lifeboat station. Had a nice tea and chocolate brownie (one of the best I've ever had!) here: http://www.annspantry.co.uk/0 -
Thank you all for suggestions .
It all looks wonderful and it's proven to my OH that there are some nice places on Anglesey .Light travels faster than sound.
