Maybe a second thread - Life post Brexit would cover that need as i think it's more brexit specific rather than prepping

    i dunno. Spinny head:rotfl:

    Zippy,
You are a wise woman! I thank you for your fairness in allowing all to vote. A brilliant way to solve this situation.

Both threads appear to be closed

Does that mean we can't, currently, post anything?

I've posted an explanation up now on both threads. That was a good point - i didn't explain the thought process so thank you for that :)

Are you sure we don't need an entire sub-section of the forum? Not entirely joking; we cover a lot of ground, from preserving, fermenting & dehydrating, through equipment & training, to zombie defence techniques. A sub-section would allow us to separate these out so that newcomers could find what they're looking for quickly & easily.

I'm away from home, as I'll be for most of the next week or so, and on a very flaky connection. But I'm perfectly happy to go along with whatever's decided - democratically, of course ;-)

Re your huidelines as posted on the 'original' thread.

I read, don't post, as a rule. Dealing with potty training a toddler and still shrugging off the effects of baby brain.

    But I do enjoy reading.

Your guidelines suggest in-depth political discussion should happen in DT - which is fine, but the bulk of voters have indicated that politicking would be welcome on a single, unifying, prepping thread (activities of TPTB having a direct influence on prepping and planning)

I think it needs to be clear if discussing current affairs (and current events ;)) and the implications of these events on us - food prices, energy shortages, protests - and how to prep for them, would be appropriate or not.

Possibly not a debate on if May v Leadsom would be good for the price of milk.
Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes, including you. Anne Lamott

It's amazing how those with a can-do attitude and willingness to 'pitch in and work' get all the luck, isn't it?

Please consider buying some pet food and giving it to your local food bank collection or animal charity. Animals aren't to blame for the cost of living crisis.

I agree with your last line - it's relevant up to a point but when it's just contentious political based debate (which isn't relevant or in context ) i fear the thread may go down the same path as last time. In my personal opinion, that kind of chat would belong in DT. It's not up to me though ! Essentially it's me trying to paraphrase (but not knowing if i hit the nail or not) :D

it's up to you guys ultimately. I can easily remove the line (
    * Discussion time is a really good place for in depth political discussion and debate) and let the thread take its course with no "line". That's why i'm asking for opinions

Love to hear that you read yet don't post - everyone's different so that's good to know. It was nice of you to contribute to this so thank you.

Chuckled at your reference to "huidelines" :rotfl::p
