New prepping thread - vote by 6pm!

I hadn't even realised you had 2 on the go! I saw the thread talking about Brexit but just thought it was a new one, talking about a different reason to prep. I'd have thought talking about prepping was relevant whatever the cause of potential catastrophe, whether that's adverse weather conditions, leaving the EU, energy supplier taking a huge amount in one go <<< what happened to me or zombie apocalypse. With two you'll just be to-ing and fro-ing between the threads.0

In out we're doomed0

Are we going to require a 75% turn out with a 60% majority?Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes, including you. Anne Lamott
It's amazing how those with a can-do attitude and willingness to 'pitch in and work' get all the luck, isn't it?

Well I voted for two - one political and one not.
But since then I've changed my mind! :rotfl:
People taking a different view of Brexit was cause for upset on the old prep thread. It's contentious and I don't see it going away any time soon. If anyone wants to argue about anything to do with politics there is plenty of opportunity elsewhere in Discussion Time. So on balance I would prefer one prep thread which limited discussion of politics to say, a heads up if there is anything which will impact on members in a preparedness context.
If you want to debate the merits of PM candidates or challenge someone's attitude about what is happening etc etc, I say take it elsewhere.0 -
thanks Pineapple. So far there's an overwhelming majority - if that's different at 6pm and your "changed vote" makes the difference then i'll consider that - fair enough?
Discussion time has lots of room for contentious issues - agreedA little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men

Both threads appear to be closed
Does that mean we can't, currently, post anything?0 -

Zippy You can't be expected to have read the recent views on all sides .Can I just clarify the reason I posted a short while back about two threads ? Many of us have real life stuff which limits our time to follow fast moving threads or scroll through information already acted on throughout the past years . On the original we were at a point where we were still moving on .
I agree many newbies would find it daunting to try to merge into such a situation and think somewhere to help many now begin or continue their journey is an excellent idea . I personally do not have time to start again so the thread would not be where I could spend time .
I would like to stress I have nothing against MaryB who is a wise and knowledgeable lady , nor any of the other posters heck a lot of my online friends are over there ! People could choose where suits them best some commute back and forth others find one or the other to fit their lives and needs .
I am just giving the reasons for my choice as to my mind the two stand alone thread option should suit all points of view .
Well the rain has finally stopped here so I'm out to the garden .

There but for fortune go you and I.0 -
