Prepay to credit meter query

Hi everyone,
I don't know if anyone can help....
I am looking into changing my prepaid electricity meter to a d.d paid credit meter. I was given pay as you go meter afte getting into debt and was told I would have to wait 1yr before they would change it back again.
A year is now passed so I am very keen to get back to much cheaper credit meter again. Trouble is, I know I will be subject to a hard credit check and know my credit score is poor, so making my chances of success rather slim.
I was wondering, can I change supplier- to one that only does a soft credit check and get them to swap my meter, then move again onto cheaper tariff paid by d.d?
Do hope that makes sense! Thanks in advance for any help.

Switch to EDF and give them a try. They are known to be more relaxed than some on credit checks.0
