DRO ends in exactly 1 month!

I cannot BELIEVE how quickly the year has flown by- any tips for the day after discharge? Should I leave everything to sort itself out in terms of default dates ect or is it best to start immediately rectifying things?

Also- is it likely I could be accepted for a credit card straight after (day after) discharge? Not to rack up a load of debt, but to begin rebuilding my credit history? Or do you only tend to get these after 6 years when the DRO has dropped off?

    Hi there

There have been numerous posters on these forums who have spoken of being able to obtain a credit card not too long after the end of their DRO. These tend to be the "credit builder" types of card, aimed specifically at those who are trying to do exactly what you are talking about. You would by no means need to wait six years to consider applying for such a card.

Obviously, acceptance criteria will vary from one card to the next, and interest rates will be uncompetitive so you should ensure that you clear any outstanding balance in full each month.

    Good luck
