I've just withdrawn £xxxxxx from Icesave & the money is ready to be invested in an Anglo Irish Bank 1 year bond.
The money left Icesave on Monday & was in LTSB yesterday afternoon. I've just had a phone call from my branch of LTSB asking me if I was aware that this money was in my Classic Plus account & reminding me that 4.25% interest is only paid on the first £2,500 of money in the account. The best interest rate LTSB could offer me is 6.5%. I realise that they were touting for business but equally it was good of them to remind me that I am not receiving interest on all of my money. I pointed out that I am most likely going to invest the money @ 6.9% AER. I am just hanging back a couple of days to see if any better interest rates are launched this week. Fingers crossed.0 -
Birmingham Midshires have just bought out an 11 month bond paying 6.95%. So who will be the first to announce the first 7% fixed rate bond?0

What a coincidence, my crystal ball also guides me towards Stroud & Swindon @ 7.05% from Friday 13th September.
