Universal credit -please help!

I am on universal credit. I am really struggling for money at the moment and got 2 week temp job in Paris which is paye.. I know its is wrong but will this flag up when I go to the job centre when I sign on as it is only a one off payment.

If I do declare this work will I lose my universal credit for 4 months as I would have earned around £1200 for two weeks work after tax..Would I still get half my universal credit for this month as I only worked for 11 days?.

Many thanks for your help!

Not sure why you think you'd lose UC for 4 months.

Employed & self-employed UC claimants are entitled to be UC claimants.

It isn't like JSA where the claim had to be closed.

However, if you report these earnings (as a self-employed UC claimant) or HMRC report these (as an employee) to the DWP, you will be over the earnings threshold for the following month.

The monthly reporting period in which the earnings are received is the important point.

However, a UC claim remains live - unless you earn over the max threshold for a period of 3 consecutive months.

If it's just a one off month of high payment it will not affect months 2, 3, etc in the future.

No, depends when in August if itz da end of August u with get full uc.. Uc js very fair if u work or not u will 0 uc for uc payment but why does it matter u payed 1200? I just did work 50hrs luckily it was the end of uc claimant pay i got full uc + pay. But nxt month i will get no uc if I don't work.. Actually i will get £390 for u nxt month. Go to universal credit look up taper.. Very few people on here. U will get full uc + pay if it's before ur claimant day. If not u will get 0 uc.
  • U have to phone da service Centre to confirm u work.. U won't ave to do job search if u work which is a +. Tbh i don't know how it works yet. . I still do job search.. U.
    Peace

It depends on the dates of the monthly reporting period.

If yours runs eg 23rd June-22nd July, a payment on the 24th would not affect the August payment - but would affect the Sep UC payment.
