Does anyone know if you can get a Aqua card as well as both are offerd by same provider Capital One.

Ive applied and it appears to have gone through..showed £1000 limit (very suprised)...but now wondering when its processed if having Luma card will flag up and stop the Aqua card.

aqua isn't provided by Capital One. They're separate providers.

You can have 2 cards issued by Capital One, so Ocean and Luma would be OK :)

I checked with them in January and they said you could only have 2 cards in total with them. Unless this has changed since then?

Well I'm more than a little surprised...I have had the Luma card a few weeks and thought the Ocean might be handy as more payments made each month cant be a bad thing.

Decision was instant (normaly its we have to check...week later failed) decision and I'm sure it said credit limit £1000 three times that of Luma.

No email yet confirming..which I thought they normaly done, all done on phone so reading it was slightly difficult.

I didn't get an email when I opened the Ocean card, I knew I 100% had it as the pin came in the post. It said Accept £1500 limit and that's what it was. Both the Ocean and Cap 1 classic came with £1500 limits.

I'm just doubting myself as I'm so surprised at the £1000 limit...it said want less click here.

Said card and pin will be despatched...but as said on phone and the fact Luma and Ocean are Cap 1 I thought it might be rejected after.

Oh well will be fingers crossed until mid week and see if pin comes.
  • I applied for classic platinum and got preapproved. Put the app in and it came back with a instant accept 1k limit on Thursday. Nearly fell off my chair given my previous debt to them before bankruptcy less than 2 years ago

As A4445 advises above (and did on another thread in BR forum) Cap1 don't seem to send emails confirming.

I did (surprisingly) get a text yesterday saying thanks for my app... ref xxxxx.... we are opening your account and will be in touch shortly.

This morning, a pin code, welcome leaflet and lending code leaflet have arrived - with a partial account number shown (12 x's then last 4 of what I assume is the card they've assigned me). Still no email about online servicing as promised - but hopefully the card will be sent Monday!

If it's instant accept and you've got no issues on your other account I wouldn't worry - if they were going to decline due to 2 cards theyd have done it at credit check stage (probably before even paying to credit check you) - as despite the accounts operating separately (although I believe they can be merged if you phone) the account on their systems will be operated as one overall customer ID, score, rating /liability etc

Their site does say first account must be open 2 months before applying for a 2nd, guess you got lucky though :)

They only offer a max of 2 cards... I tried to run the quick check for one of their partners cards and it automatically says no they system rejects if before they even complete the soft search.

It is possible to merge accounts, I asked the question on their secure message service, you need to call them to do so.

Both accounts are linked, they won't consider any credit limit increase until both accounts are 6m old. Not that you really want a large limit with their interest rate!
