Hi all,

I got a PCN from PRIVATE PARKING SOLUTIONS (LONDON) LTD for not displaying my ticket correctly. I thought this would be a nice simple appeal to them saying that I have the ticket and sent them a photo of it saying that it must have flipped over in the wind. They have said that that was no excuse and uphold that I need to pay the fine. They have given me a POPLA number for appeal but I am now worried that if I put the wrong wording in there I will fail again on the appeal.
What can I do?

Did you say who parked the car, in the first appeal? 'I parked' or 'my ticket must have...'?

Or did you say (much better!) 'we' think our ticket must have blown over?

You should have researched this first because giving away the driver is a rookie error we hope you didn't make.

To find example PPS POPLA appeals to copy from, obviously choose 'PPS POPLA' as your search terms and search 'this forum' only (not the entire MSE site or forum boards).

I thought this was going to be a nice easy solution as after dealing with the local council for my mum it was very simple!

You have made it more difficulty for yourself, but all is not lost.

As advised, search for other successful PoPLA examples from the POPLA Decisions sticky thread. Post your draft up here before submitting it.
Also, complain to the landowner. That is the best way of getting this cancelled.

Should have appealed as keeper. Private Parking firms just want your money and PPS are an ex-clamper nasty bunch, I seem to recall.

Read other POPLA appeals and DO NOT be tempted to pay at the lovely 'discount'.
