Card Processing - any advise please?

Morning - new to this so please be gentle.

My business currently uses Barclaycard Merchant Services to handle our card transactions. They provide a wireless terminal through which we take payment primarily over our trade counter - we are a Glass Merchants. Barclaycard have deemed it necessary to significantly change and particularly 'up' our charges. I am looking to minimise costs by either moving or 'keeping them honest'. Does anyone out there have any advise as to how to find the best deal?

Google searches have come up with numerous specialist search facilities and many potential providers - lots of which I have never heard of! This market seems to have become rather well populated since I last considered my provider and I would welcome any thoughts or tips to help me weed out the bad and make a good sensible choice for my business.

Thanks for reading this

Do you have access to Costco as they have a merchant service available which is cheap during first year, however there is also likes of paypal virtual that you can use as well

We currently use iZettle for our mobile needs. (ie Drivers on the road taking payments) It works well and is considerably cheaper than Barclay Merchant services so we are looking at using it for all CC payments in future.

Yes, Costco do a system that is, iirc, 1.2p for debit cards and 1.2% for credit cards.
