Friday 8th July - what small DFW things will you do today?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important :money:

Morning all :hello: it's Friday :j:j
Damp and rainy here this morning but it won't dampen my mood as I've paid CC2 off this morning. Which means just one left :T:D:j DH got a decent chunk of overtime so that was enough to pay the final bit. I've already worked out payments for the final one over the life of the balance of the card and set the DD up. So we are good to throw everything at savings to do the extension and hopefully begin overpaying the mortgage
Anyway on to the small things that will help this goal:
Check banking, small TT to savings
Check surveys, FPL
Text sister about discounted meat she got me yesterday
Get DD to write card form stash and wrap pressie from box for party tonight
Meals from stores
Working from home so no commute :T
Try and do a final calc as to how much I'll save when I get my new co car next week, try and log in hmr6 website so I can change my car and therefore my tax code. If can't remember log in might have to go through tedious process of registering with one of their 'partners' again.
Do some paperwork tonight
Half an hour of my accounts so I'm on track for tax return
Text lady about other DD going to a party
I'm sure they're will be more later. PF.0 -
Good morning,
Thanks for the thread PurpleFairy and a huge well done on paying off a CC!!!
My list;
Bring lunch into work
Exercise at lunchtime
Check free postcode lottery
Do some filing when I get home
Check banks and YNAB
Have a nice day everyone

Morning Campers,
Can't seem to get myself going this morning. Grey & rainy outside, but on the plus side, we did find the snail who'd been decimating my greenhouse plants last night.....& his 2 friends! I'm afraid all of them swiftly dispatched under mr f's size 11 DMs. Let that be a lesson! Today's offerings will be:
*Clean whole house using washable cloths & minimal products.
*Get some dhal I batch cooked ages ago out of the freezer for dinner. Will do veggie rice with it & turn half a leftover cabbage into stir-fried spicy greens.
*Change bed linen & load it into washer for cheap overnight wash.
*Do next week's meal plans.
*Write shopping list.
*Start thinking about food for beginning of next month when we have guests. I will get some of it made & frozen to save time & pence.
*Pick fresh coriander & plant out a few more lettuces.
*Water greenhouse veg.
*Knit more sock. Turned the heel last night so it's getting there.
*Put vouchers in my purse ready for shopping trip tomorrow.
*Make a packed lunch too, so we are not hungrily buying paninis/chips, etc.
*Fish Man delivering our order so will be cutting 1kg salmon into fillets for freezing in meal sized portions to get our money's worth.
*Pick more sweet peas for free home fragrance.
Better get started now. Will see how much cleaning I can get done by 10.30.....which is when the kettle's going on regardless.
Have a good day all.

Ziggy - Thanks for asking. My poorly arm is actually fractionally better this last couple of days. I received some good advice & have been icing it most days but also making sure I do move it so it doesn't sieze up. I've had it weeks. It is only just very slightly better but am really hoping it's turning a corner. Reaching for seatbelt & putting bra on still extremely difficult.....& don't suggest asking mr f to help.....they're a lot better at taking them off than they are fastening them up, aren"t they, lol xx2025's challenges: 1) To fill our 10 Savings Pots to their healthiest level ever

Well, mr f has a half day & is hoovering upstairs as the hoover is too heavy for me to carry up there with my bad arm. So that completes my job list. The sun has come out & I'm going to go outside & do 10 Annoying Things in the garden. Then it might be knitting & deckchair.2025's challenges: 1) To fill our 10 Savings Pots to their healthiest level ever
