Should the DWP automatically reinstate carers allowance after a tribunal? As I understand it if my DLA to pip transfer had happened as planned my mums carers allowance would have just kept going but we are 5 weeks post tribunal, I have my award letter and back pay but mums not heard a word.

my husband was transferred from dla to pip, and when that happened my ca was stopped as the dla had stopped, I phoned the ca dept and enquired, to be told that as dla had now stopped and pip is a new claim my ca would be reinstated immediately, BUT from that date, they pay in arrears so I had to go without ca for 2 weeks before my payment began again, this also happened when the transfer from dla to pip happened one claim is closed and another opened so you have to wait for payment to start, the first 6 weeks were a struggle until all the payments were back in place at regular intervals, sorry it seems a bit jumbled the system isn't easy to understand,0
