The outdoor/camping sellers on ebay usually have a few as well.

Don't bother. They take forever to boil the water (30min for 400ml!!) but still use up a lot of power (100w) so would flatten the battery pretty easily.
For the same money as a 12v kettle you could buy a camping gas stove;)0 -
agree with scbk, get a gas stove and a pot,you will wait for ever for a 12v kettle to boil any useful amount of water, thats only if it doesnt keep blowing the fuse for your cigar lighter like mine did ( before i threw it away) when i was trying to cook a pot noodle.
a gas stove would be cheaper to buy and run aswell,as you need to keep your engine running to charge the battery to power the kettle and they cost around £10 pound to buy plus £1 pound for a box of 10 10amp fuses.
you can get a stove plus gas for around £5.
but if you are hell bent on using electricity i advise buying a nice 12v 400w invertor and just take the kettle from your kitchen.you could also power your home hifi,t.v.or pretty much anything you like with a powerful enough invertor,i have one for my work and regularly charge my cordless drill and laptop.
it cost £40 from machine mart....work permit granted!0 -

As kettles are generally 2000w-3000w (ie between 5 and 7.5 times the capacity of that inverter), you will either:
a) blow the fuses in your car
b) break your inverter
c) wait an awful long time for hot water
d) wait forever, as nothing might happenBritish Ex-pat in British Columbia!0 -
You can get low wattage 230v kettles, usually for caravan use. I think they're about 300w, so it's still gonna take a while to boil though!
Also you can get bigger inverters, I've got 2kw one in my van, but would only use the higher powered appliences with the engine running0 -
I have got one from a cash and carry for £4.99 and it takes about 10/15 minutes to boil, has a cut out and has never drained my battery. The truth may be out there, but the lies are inside your head. Terry Pratchett

Just use the engines heat to warm food up! Kippers fit nicely on top of the air filter box...0
