Excessive? RMG Charges on buying existing property in 2008

Hi,

I am very close to signing the contract for a property which has all been agreed except these charges which have shown up on my contract to be signed. Is it normal to have charges such as these? It is a property built in 2008 and I am buying it as a freehold. It is on a relatively new development which is managed by both RMG and The Land Trust.

My question is, are these charges reasonable, and are they normal in a purchase such as this. I understand there is a yearly maintenance charge, but I believe the costs here to be excessive?

Thanks.

Most of it's one-off, and though frustrating, there's not much you can do about it - £333 in one-off costs is annoyingly high, but not taking the !!!! high. You'll want to check what the actual service charges have been in recent years, though, if £300 is just an estimate.

All of this I believe is just to get me the property. The yearly service charge is approximately £195.
