Ebay - item not recieved - seller no longer registered.

I wonder if anyone can help on this please.
I've just opened a case for an item that I have not received. I now have to wait 8 days to be able to escalate the case.
Problem is, the seller is no longer a registered ebay member. Is there anyway I can speed up the process seems as they are no longer registered? Seems daft to wait for a response I can't get and I can't order another until I get a refund.
Any suggestions other than to just wait?

I had this twice recently wit items from china/hong kong and not delivered after a month , seller no longer registered , opened case and refunded within 48hrs"If I know I'm going crazy, I must not be insane"0

Probably because they need the refunded cash to make a second purchase.0 -
You can get your refund quickly if you telephone or use live chat. You don't need to wait the 8 days if a seller is NARU but you have to contact eBay as they need to override the automated system.0
