Pre plaster tour - new build

Tomorrow we have our pre plaster tour of our new build. However, we are not really sure what the purpose of this tour is? Can anybody help so that we can ensure that we are looking for/doing the right thing?

Thanks

To make sure that sockets and other electrical fittings are in the right place before plastering the walls???

There's a bit more to it. You can also confirm that any optional extra sockets or light fittings have been fitted. Also, if you take photographs you'll have a record of where mains cabling and plumbing is run. For me it was a useful opportunity to get an idea of the size of the rooms and the layout as actually built.

Also look at positioning of things like hand wash basins/plumbing for fixtures to ensure that doors can still open fully etc.

It's a lot easier to move them before plastering is done than it is to rip off tiles, re-plaster etc. later on.

In the same way that children like to write their names on the wall before wallpaper is put up, you could take a can of spray paint and graffiti Swishy87 wos 'ere on the wall then watch the reaction of the person giving the tour.

I don't know what the beer icon is for, Freecall, doesn't the "pre-plaster tour" imply that participants should be sober? :D

    Very good!

I thought that the OP might end up tired and emotional after all that touring and listening to the sales pitch.

    ;)
