ANPR-LTD Parking Charge Notice

Hello everyone

I received Parking Charge Notice from 'ANPR-LTD' and after doing quite a bit of research It was a pleasant surprise to me that there are articles, websites and forums such as this that offer help, especially regarding this company.

Anyway onto the issue - I received a windshield parking fine for not displaying a permit. Admittedly the car park had all the signage up that would suggest I shouldn't park there. I was gone for around 8-10 minutes and came back to the notice on the window which meant they may have just been waiting for someone to come and park there.

I am aware that 'ANPR-LTD' are not a member of the BPA or the IPC, and therefore cannot obtain my details from the DVLA. In addition, I was in a works van and the company owns the van.

I rang the BPA and they confirmed that 'ANPR-LTD' have no means of getting my details, unless they somehow found a way to contact my company, as there was a sign with my companies name on display (no addresses).

Basically I just need advice on what to do? Although I was arguably in the wrong, I'm unsure whether I actually need to pay this 'fine' as I'm not sure whether they can trace me or my company and therefore pursue the matter (further communications or possibly the threat of court proceedings).

Advice would be appreciated please.

Should be able to get your address from the van if it was sign written.

Just stay put till you get some communication from them then come back on this thread.

They can only legally get the keepers info, if they belong to a accredited organsiation.
Anyone can apply for details from the DVLA but they need to provide full details as to why. They could, the DVLA are very poor on data protection. Suggest you talk to your boss and explain the huge scam that goes on with private parking companies.
Your company is not obliged to comply with any request

On the ANPR website they claim .... "Should any trespasser fail to heed the warnings, we can request from the DVLA the vehicles registered keeper raising enforcement from 45% to 80%. <<<<< THEY LIE

Something you may wish the ASA to investigate.

It's a T. Whitehouse company, known within the "who knows community" as TREV

Even if they get the keeper/owner's details from the signwriting on the van, they still cannot hold a keeper liable. Because to do that they have to be in an ATA and MUST get the data via the arrangements specified by the Secretary of State (the DVLA).

The company cannot be held liable AT ALL.

And nor can an unknown driver.

Absolutely NOT one to pay but if the van is leased rather than owned, you need to tell the Fleet Manager to tell the Lease firm that if a letter arrives from ANPR Ltd it is not one that is anyone's business but the driver (explain why).
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

    Thank you for your reply.

The sign within the van simply has the name of my company written on it (not address), a quick google search will show up with the address of the main building of my company (which i am not based at anyway). Even so, are they allowed to google an address to send correspondence to?

They can google until the cows come home, you or you company are NOT obliged to talk to scammers

I am sure your company would not wish to deal with scammers

Suppose they contact your company, all your company should do is tell them to f... off

I'm really glad I found these forums, extremely helpful!

From your response, is it safe to say I should just ignore the PCN and if they do somehow get in contact with me, come back to this thread?

If you receive anything from the ANPR , then it must be your employer that has named you.

As they are unregulated, who is going to stop them? This would be like you sending a letter to the owner company of a white van which cut you up one day - no-one could stop you Googling the company address but it would have no clout if you demanded £100 for being cut up!

If there is ANY danger of someone in the company or Lease hire firm paying it, warn those Fleet Managers now about this scam which is only the business of you and not them. If they say 'ah, but we always write to/pay parking tickets...' NO, they can't, because this is really and truly a scam PCN and they are not liable nor responsible for it in any way at all - just demand that they pass it to you if a letter arrives.

if a fleet manager or lease Co receive a NTK for a PARKING on private land charge , then ANPR have illegally got info from the DVLA ,

    the DVLA are watching ,,,,,,,
